Christmas season has come and gone in a blur of ridiculously long hours, very little sleep, and large amounts of caffeine. I’m going through my photos now and will be posting some of the highlights of this season. This is a custom horse portrait on a license plate.

Painting on dark t-shirts takes more time and a bit more technical skill than painting on light colored shirts. This is basically two instructional DVD’s in one, because you will learn how to airbrush on dark fabric, and also you will learn how to airbrush portraits. Two different variations of painting on dark fabric are covered here, and are illustrated in two examples.

I prefer to make portraits larger, but we do get orders for portraits on hats, license plates and other things smaller than t-shirt size. The challenge with hats is that it is a curved surface (especially baseball hats) so, it’s very easy to distort the face. I thought this particular portrait came out nice and looked just like the picture.
